The researchers working at COI Tohoku Site introduce the details of their research.
Everyone wants to live a fulfilling and healthy life. Unfortunately, reality does not always go ideally, so we end up worrying about illness, suffering from loneliness, and feeling concerned about family members living in far-off places. We are developing the "Daily Health Screening" system, which uses unobtrusive sensing to exceed the boundaries of the traditional family concept and provide multiple generational support for assessing the lifestyles and health conditions of you and your family no matter whenever and wherever. The "Daily Health Screening" is made up of three elements: "Measure" (assessing, timing, and weighing), "Recognize" (ascertaining, knowing, and comprehending), and "Actuate" (imparting self-help and providing mutual assistance). We use several types of sensing technology to effortlessly collect information on health and the related factors (lifestyle factors and environmental factors), manage the collected information along with physical information (genetic factors) centrally as big PDS (personal data service/store) on the cloud, and through comprehension and sharing of this data, utilize it in a variety of ways from the viewpoints of self-help and mutual-assistance.
